The Crawling release mini-documentary “A REASON TO CRAWL” Facebook – Instagram – YouTube – Bandcamp – Spotify As we are all very aware, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the live music scene as we knew it has ended. Of course, this is a temporary situation, but truth be told, no one truly knows how this will move forward; we just need to take it one step at a time. The Crawling have responded by continuing to create – focusing on playthrough videos, live Facebook events, and social media. Amidst this, Andy (vocals/guitar), has taken time to reflect upon playing live, providing a narrative to accompany vlog footage from the band’s last UK tour, aptly entitled “A REASON TO CRAWL.” Vocalist/guitarist Andy Clarke commented; “As a band, we (The Crawling) have found ourselves confined to a digital platform until restrictions are eased, and we can at least meet for rehearsal, never mind play a show. I was growing increasingly frustrated by the lack of gigs, and I needed to do something, so i just took the time to reflect upon some of the shows from last year. It’s not a substitute, but it’s a reminder of what we had, what we do, who we are, why we do it, and what we have to look forward to.” BIOGRAPHY Formed in the winter of 2014 against the bleak concrete backdrop of Lisburn city, Northern Ireland; The Crawling use a guttural vocal to combine melancholy with weight, churning out a heavy, doom/death ensemble. January 2015 saw the single ‘Choking On Concrete,’ which put the band on the scene, followed in October by the highly successful EP ‘In Light of Dark Days.’ April 2017 the debut album, ‘Anatomy Of Loss‘ was released via Grindscene Records, accompanied by five music videos, receiving excellent reviews worldwide. 2018 was the year for the sophomore release, ‘Wolves and the Hideous White’ featuring six brand new tracks. The album reflects upon the human desire to belong, the sacrifices made to be part of someone, disillusion from loss of self, and the final inability to escape. The Crawling have established their live performance with support from a loyal fan base; most notably appearing at Inferno Metal Festival (Norway), Bloodstock Open Air (UK), Seige of Limerick (IRE), Metal Days (SLO), Shellshockfest (Malta), Uprising (UK), Incinerationfest (UK), Mammothfest (UK) and Full Metal Mensa (GER). The Crawling is highly active on all social media platforms and has continued support from Grindscene Records.
