Born in Belfast with four members from different backgrounds, A 1000 Days Gone combine a fresh and unique sound with a solid rock backbone.
Their raw rock sound is sewn together with lead and rhythm guitars, bass and drums – there’s no need for endless overdubs. Live, A 1000 Days Gone are gathering stellar reviews both from audiences and media across Northern Ireland.
A 1000 Days Gone’s first single release ‘Fire’ evokes the uncertain polarised times we live in; while giving the kind of delivery not heard since Rage Against The Machine, QOTSA and Audioslave.
The track opens with a crescendo of instruments and hits its driving bassline at 30 secs – an instant hook.
Singer Mick Bingham brings a deep baritone and rich depth of timbre to the music ‘I see flames, flashpoint violence, I hear your words but I need your silence.’
If we were wondering if ‘rock is dead’ – perhaps we should revise that opinion.
‘They [A 1000 Day Gone] deliver indie-infused rock with a nice line in harmonies, the feel of early U2 mixed with the icicle Works and infused with generous dollops of Soundgarden, especially in the big rhythms and sugar-sweet melodies and all in a way which is very tight and precise,’ – Uber Rock @uberrockcouk
