MADICIDE possess an engulfing sound that draws from many areas. Though they have a particular affection for Pantera, Suicidal Tendencies, Megadeth, and Slayer, the Welsh heavyweights astutely bring their own unique flavour to proceedings, making them primed to unleash their new music to the UK and beyond.
Originally formed back in 2010, the band soon dropped their debut EP, The Shed of Metal, the year after, and following a number of energetic live shows, momentum began to build. The growth continued and by 2013, MADICIDE had another EP, The Killing Machine, set to drop. The record arrived and was accompanied by the group’s first ever music video for the title track, Killing Machine. As the band’s fanbase increased, so did the pressure to perform. The expectation of delivering wired and dynamic live shows soon took its toll on all members, and by the time of the launch for their single, Death March, MADICIDE was at breaking point. Health issues, substances, and massive fatigue all contributed to their decision in 2015 to take a hiatus.
During 2020’s pandemic, conversations within the band were sparked about a return. Fueled by boredom and isolation, new material developed, as well as a reworking for the band’s past single, Death March. Over the next year, Death March gained traction with BBC Radio, Total Rock and more. A rejuvenated line-up was finalised featuring new drummer Tim Roberts, original bassist and co-founder Josh Bevan, original lead guitarist Ian Woolfe, and rhythm guitarist, vocals and co-founder Ceri Roberts. After the lockdown restrictions finally lifted in Wales, the ‘new’ line-up hit the road again, playing packed out headline shows around the U.K and also supporting other acts such as UK thrash pioneers, Virus, and Danish death metallers, Baest.
Now armed with a killer single and video, as well as a new record on the way, and further UK shows, there is nothing to stop MADICIDE this time around.
