Eternal Closure chat to Rock N Load about their latest album and new addition

So for anyone unfamiliar with yourself, tell us a little bit about your backstory and how you ended up here.

We are a Progressive Melodic Metalcore band and have been playing in the Montreal scene since 2012. It started as a group of friends wanting to make some good heavy tunes and play some shows, but nothing extremely serious. We played a lot of cover songs from bands like Atreyu, Avenged Sevenfold, A Day to Remember and Asking Alexandria. We’ve changed quite a bit since and don’t really sound like any of these bands anymore haha. We’ve been through quite a lot of member changes through our history too, taking the project more and more seriously as time goes by. Our latest new member Maggy has brought new possibilities to our music that I can’t wait to explore on our next album. It hasn’t always been easy, but we feel like the music is worth it, and that one day all the effort we’ve put into it will get back to us. It’s hard work, but it’s fun work! I (Olivier) just hope we can play a real show again sooner than later.

What’s Happening Now?

Our new release, “Color of Our Fears: Rediscovered” is a re-release of our second album with 3 added tracks that feature Maggy on vocals. We thought it was a neat way of showing off the new vocalist while we’re working on larger projects! We’ve also released a new music video for “The Slave or the Owner” which is a lot of fun. If you like cats and/or intense, thrash-y metalcore, check it out! It’s available on all the main streaming services like Spotify, Apple Music, Tidal, Amazon, Deezer, etc.

 What is next for you?

We have had a couple line-up changes recently, so it’s all about getting back into the groove of things while we write songs for our next release. There’s quite a bit of variety in the new stuff and it’s now only a matter of polishing it and choosing which tracks we like best. The restrictions are so rough here in Montreal that we can’t really practice together at the moment so it slows the process down a bit. Thanks for the internet I guess haha.

What are your influences & inspiration?

I think a band that influenced us all and made us love music was Linkin Park. Can’t count how many times I listened to Hybrid Theory, especially a song like In the End.
