Two years, following the release of their critically-lauded debut album “Khaos”, Swiss blackened grind four-piece group Icare are back with their second full-length “Charogne”, due out on May 6 via Hummus Records. Inspired by Charles Baudelaire‘s poem “Une Charogne”, this new album was composed in order to a complete and immersive live experience, so Icare crafted a whole single track lasting more than 40-minutes. Pre-orders are now available at this location. An excerpt from the album is now playing at Everything Is Noise, who commented “This piece compares the more post elements of The Ocean or Cult of Luna, with arpeggiated guitars matched by caustic vocals and pounding drums. However, the occasional forays into frantic black metal further capture the bleak cold fatalism of the album’s inspiration.” Check it out here. |
