Scotlands very best pop boy HYYTS release their new single Thanks For The Ride today and it’s an important song that marks a big and empowering change for the band. So rather than trotting out the usual trite press release chat, it’s best to hear it from the horse’s mouth.

“A couple months ago we got dropped from our label and we started to feel kinda weird and maybe question if we were really cut out for this and if we’re really as good as we think we are. It’s been a weird, dramatic time and maybe we felt sorry for ourselves a bit but that’s in the past. We think Thanks For The Ride is the best song we’ve ever made and we got to make all the decisions on the artwork and video which you can’t do with a label (the jury’s still out on whether that’s a good or a bad thing – you can decide when you see the video!) We’re going to be here until we’re washed up old farts and we’re going to put out music for as long as we possibly can ‘cos it’s what we’re meant to do.”
The video for Thanks For The Ride drops next week. Here’s a no-context clip. Make of it what you will.
HYYTS debut album is in the can, and will be released later this year.
