Tonight marked the end of the UK leg of Dan + Shay’s European Tour, last night Dublin and tonights finale in Belfast. These boys what side their bread is buttered on wrapping things up in Ireland. Catherine McGrath provided support across the UK and it was fitting she was here for her return home back to Northern Ireland and the Mandela Hall Belfast.

We caught up with Catherine earlier in the day, this highly rated up and coming star has been tipped by the Independent to be one to watch in 2018, I don’t think they’re wrong there. Check out the interview here:

With her debut album en route Spring 2018, next year will be a huge year for this young Irish starlet. Tonight was her opportunity to shine one last time in 2017 in front of a local audience; she took to the stage and immediately connected with the home crowd. Playing a mixture of new and older material her contemporary style echoed around the hall as onlookers took to her suave style and engaging melodies. Interacting with the audience in between songs she talks of how she’s just loves playing to an Irish crowd, “You guys are the best, I’m sad to be finishing off with Dan + Shay but delighted to sign off here in Belfast.”

Playing songs like’ Cinderella’ and ‘Talk Of The Town’ which has recently been getting airplay locally in N.Ireland, a song with a real swagger about it, sharp sounding and contemporary her classy song writing will no doubt win fans far and wide. She wraps up her short and sweet set with a new number of the forthcoming album to rapturous applause.

Dan + Shay hit the stage like men possessed, their 1st Belfast show kicks off in style with a barrage of up-tempo hard hitting behemoth sounding songs, their energy levels are off the charts as they grin from ear to ear at the reaction of the Irish audience. No content with their own music they guys cover a plethora of their favourite artists from Bon Jovi, The Killers, and even Boyz To Men. The room is bouncing to the sounds of their gargantuan tracks and vocally Shay Mooney is stunning, with their infectious personalities the two have this crowd eating from the palms of their hands and the room is electric!

A stunning performance all round from the band behind the boys, meshed with flawless song writing and mammoth sing along tracks just reinforce the thought that these guys are as slick as it gets! More than once they give a shout out to Catherine McGrath praising her qualities, and they also share the fact that today marks their 5 yr anniversary together as a band, where better to celebrate it here tonight in Belfast with an adoring crowd and freshly poured Guinness. Tonight was a surprise package in many ways, I’ve been fortunate to attend many a gig in my time but rarely get an education like I did tonight.

Touché my friends Touché.
