SABU Banshee
Made in collaboration with Barry Sparks, fans of Sabu’s oeuvre will find that it is somewhat redolent of his acclaimed ’80s work as Only Child. The son of the India-born film star Sabu, Paul Sabu’s big break came when he signed to Motown and released the classic self-titled Kidd Glove album in 1984. He then reformed his band Sabu, had a hit single entitled ‘Angeline’, hit paydirt as Only Child and also began adding production and mixing skills to his CV, working with megastars such as David Bowie, Alice Cooper, Madonna and many more. As Sabu, he began releasing bigger sounding and much heavier music that typically featured blistering guitars and superlative vocals that demonstrated just why he is still considered an AOR god.

NEVENA Nevena
This debut album by Serbian singer Nevena Djordjevic sees her partner up with producer and labelmate Mike Palace (aka Palace), who adds his midas touch to a set of melodic rock/AOR songs with a contemporary edge. Nevena is a singer, songwriter and pianist who rose to local fame as a finalist on the first series of ‘First Voice of Serbia’ while still at school, before enrolling at the esteemed Berklee College of Music in Boston (US) to study. While there, she worked with a variety of internationally recognised artists such as Tigran Hamasyan, Sheila Jordan, Theresa Thomason and Paul Winter.

TARMAT Out Of The Blue
A new AOR/Melodic Rock act from Niterói, Brazil, Tarmat formed in 2020, although all four members have previously played together in various hard rock outfits. With a wide range of acknowledged influences that include Journey, Boston, Europe, Simply Red, Christopher Cross, Van Halen, Toto and Queen, this debut album inevitably recalls the ‘80s yet nevertheless displays a fresh approach and sound.

LANDFALL Elevate
The second album by Curitiba, Brazil-based melodic/AOR rockers Landfall sounds something like classic era Journey melded with slightly heavier influences such as Dokken, White Lion and Extreme. With phenomenal songwriting and boasting the golden voice of Gui Oliver, they have been a welcome addition to their genre. Initially formed by childhood friends Marcelo Gelbcke (guitar) and Felipe Souzza (drums), they were joined by bassist Thiago Forbeci and then Oliver, who already had songwriting credits for numerous artists on the Frontiers roster. Having issued a debut album in 2020 entitled ‘The Turning Point’, Gelbcke subsequently co-created a heavy metal album by Icon of Sin, while Oliver released a killer slice of melodic rock/AOR as part of Mayank.

TOMMY DeCARLO Dancing In The Moonlight
This is the debut solo album by American rock vocalist Tommy DeCarlo, who has also been the singer of the band Boston since 2007. With vocal chops that are perfectly suited to classic ’70s/’80s style AOR, he also fronts the band DeCarlo, who released their first album via Frontiers in 2020. With an organic and ‘live’ vibe, ‘Dancing In The Moonlight’ showcases Tommy’s vocal ability on songs that recapture the magic of that era.

ROB MORATTI Epical
Formerly of Moratti, Final Frontier and Saga, Canadian singer Rob Moratti possesses an astonishing vocal range and has carved a unique style that blends the finest elements of melodic and progressive rock. His fifth solo record, ‘Epical’ is filled with trademark harmonies and memorable choruses and features a stellar cast that includes Joel Hoekstra (lead guitar), Tony Franklin (bass), Felix Borg (drums), Fredrik Bergh (keyboards), Ulrick Lönnqvist, Steve Augeri and Pete Alpenborg (rhythm guitar and keyboards).

AFTER LAPSE Face The Storm
Spanish melodic prog metallers After Lapse formed in 2018 and were initially influenced by genre giants such as Dream Theater, Devin Townsend, Pain Of Salvation and Haken, plus power metal outfits like Kamelot and Angra. However, this debut album shows that they are far more than merely the sum of their parts.

SCREAM MAKER Bloodking (REISSUE)
Currently working on a new album, Frontiers are meanwhile reissuing this recent third studio effort by Polish metallers Scream Maker. Formed in Warsaw in 2010, the group have played hundreds of shows in their home territory and beyond, including gigs with luminaries such as Judas Priest, Motörhead, Megadeth, Saxon, Slayer, Nightwish, Primal Fear, Stratovarius and Onslaught. They have toured China three times and also instigated the ongoing Ronnie James Dio Memorial festival.
