Nashville, TN – New Country act, The Kentucky Gentlemen are still celebrating the premiere of their video, “Vibin'” on CMT Music and CMT.com late last week. The duo comprised of twin brothers, Brandon and Derek Campbell of Versailles, KY is thrilled to see the years of hard work finally paying off. They say that CMT’s acceptance of their music and the video’s premiere on CMT Music is their proudest moment to date.
CMT called the video, “a slice of breezy, relaxing life hanging out with an airstream trailer.” The duo noted that they only had three hours to film the day they shot the video. “With a lot of planning between us, we pulled up to the 70-year-old Vintage airstream trailer and set up tons of plants and furniture ready to take on the challenge. Almost everything on that set came from our own home. Then we let the good times roll. Thank the Lord for great friends, good beer, and a great director in Kyle Guercio.”
Brandon and Derek didn’t always have music pegged as their future. However, after deciding to attend college in separate states they realized they weren’t happy and started considering their next move. Both knew they wanted to pursue music, so they decided to do it together and soon found themselves packing up their bedrooms and with their parent’s help moving to Nashville, TN.
The brothers credit their mother for their name, after talking about how Kentucky will always be in their blood, their mother called them her, “My Kentucky Gentlemen” After considering it for a while the brothers decided it was who they were and that it would be their name going forward. They say their love of Country music comes from growing up in Versailles, KY, and being surrounded by it in their everyday lives. “Between long car rides with our grandparents listening to Country radio and back in the teenage sports days, where the entire bus would belt out every lyric of our favorite County songs, Country music was just part of life in our town of Versailles.”
