“Deftly melding post-hardcore, hip-hop, and R&B, Cherie Amour operate on a level of their own.” – AFROPUNK

Today, Baltimore-based quartet Cherie Amour released a blazing new single and visualizer “Losing Control”, which will appear on their upcoming album Spiritual Ascension due out November 4th on Equal Vision Records. You can stream the song and watch the official visualizer here. The band has built hype throughout the year with a series of singles that have garnered them acclaim from fans and critics alike. “Sin City”“Letting Go”, and “Love’s Not Your Thing” (all produced by Alan Day of Four Year Strong) will appear on their upcoming album and prove that Cherie Amour have perfected their self described ‘nu-punk’ sound. You can pre-order and pre-save the album here.

“Losing Control” is Cherie Amour’s fourth single of the year and showcases the band’s ability to explore the sonic landscape between rock, pop-punk, EDM and hip hop. Their newest song is absolutely dripping with attitude, and serves as a statement on their versatile songwriting ability. While “Losing Control” leans into a pulsating, club friendly groove, it is by no means formulaic – the band has a fearless creative sensibility they aren’t afraid to flex, even when writing dancefloor bangers. Stream “Losing Control” and watch the official visualizer here.

Vocalist Trey Miller has this to say about the latest track:

“‘Losing Control’ is lyrically about that moment when you see someone across the room at a party and there’s a mutual attraction but also a bunch of other factors that might prevent y’all from building a committed relationship. Sonically, ‘Losing Control’ is really unique; it’s got an EDM flair mixed with chugging guitars and a drum corps-esque breakdown. We wanted to make something that was still ‘rock’ but could stand its own in a club setting and I think we did that with this song.”

The band will join In Her Own Words, Capstan and Shallow Pools on a month long North American tour starting November 18th. Tickets are on sale now. Full itinerary is below. You can pre-order Spiritual Ascension vinyl and merchandise and pre-save the album here.

Cherie Amour is Trey Miller (vocals), Casey Reid (guitar), Brendan Willis (guitar) and Ronnie Sherman (drums).

About Cherie Amour:
Cherie Amour are both an established act and a new band. Its members–vocalist Trey Miller, guitarists Casey Reid and Brendan Willis and drummer Ronnie Sherman–had been playing together as One Life To Lead, but felt that name didn’t suit their evolving musical style. As a result, they renamed themselves Cherie Amour, and it’s with this moniker that the self-styled nu-punk outfit have truly found their sound. The four-piece have done so by mixing together a killer blend of genres that, on paper, make for odd bedfellows, but in the band’s capable hands sound like they’re meant to be together. “It was amongst our goals to not try to prescribe to a certain genre,” says Allen. “We wanted it to be all-encompassing so that you can get out of it what you want and need, and we felt that nu-punk was the best way to describe that simply.”Their latest singles “Losing Control”, “Letting Go”, “Love’s Not Your Thing” and “Sin City” serve as follow ups to acclaimed 2021 debut EP Internal Discussions, both produced by Alan Day (Four Year Strong) and released through Equal Vision Records. Their newest tracks are catchy, hook-laden, emotion laced journeys through the bands pop-punk foundations mixed with heavy breakdowns and an unapologetic undercurrent of hip-hop inspired pop. A self aware, existential lyrical edge adds an element that confidently breaks down genre barriers and makes all three tracks truly unforgettable experiences for the listener. The band will release their new album Spiritual Ascension on November 4th via Equal Vision Records.
