The return of Slash is always warmly welcomed, then throw in the incredible chemistry of adding Myles Kennedy and The Conspirators and we know that we are in for a thrill ride of an album.
Having wanted Kennedy as to try out on vocals for Velvet Revolver, Slash got his wish for the two to work together when he released the solo album Slash in 2010 and then came the new group under the current name and now they bring us their third album together.
So with Slash having been so busy touring with Guns ‘n’ Roses and Myles Kennedy releasing his solo album, touring that and playing with Alterbridge, has this album been thrown together or is it the new masterpiece.
From the opening of the album we hear the unmistakable sound of the genius starting up his stringed wand and then the magical Rock and Roll starts to flow, accompanied by the brilliant Conspirators and the unmistakable, unique and brilliant voice of Kennedy.
The riffs and solos are as expected, utterly phenomenal and pure filth as we are taken on a musical extravaganza of toe tapping, air guitar playing sing alongs. I challenge anyone to listen to the rifftastic ‘Mind Your Manners’ and not grin like a Cheshire Cat as you sing along.
‘’Lost Inside The Girl’ has a more Alterbridge groove to the track, with an added lick of Slash whilst ‘Driving Rain’ is just a track that is a true great, as all the 12 tracks are.
This is a 53-minute album of fun, dirty riffs, stunning solos, mesmerising vocals and truly a Rock and Roll great. You can hear the fun that the band had whilst making the album. This is a match made in heaven as the 5 piece join together and produce perfection, over and over again.
Living The Dream is simply brilliant and a must have, as we live the dream listening to such an outrageously fantastic record.
