In Turin, Italy 2013 a new band was formed and began to create their special form of Extreme music. This band released their self-titled debut album in 2014 and then followed it up in 2016 with their second full length release Womb. This band is called is Noise Trail Immersion and now they about to drop album number 3, which was approached as a 43 minute track, split into 7 parts to create Symbology Of Shelter.
From the opening colliding sounds and extreme vocal, it is clear that this album is one for the Mathcore fans, especially those that like their Mathcore smothered in Blackness. The speed changes and complexity with chaotic riffs are non-stop and certainly keep you on your toes and you know that this is one to strap in for as the aggression repeatedly and ferociously beats you around the head.
This combination isn’t one just for the opener either as although there are slightly calmer tracks, such as both of the two-part offerings on this album, the aggression and unpredictability continues in full force and are unforgiving in the chaotic, technical and intense album.
The way that the album has been split allows it to flow between tracks as they merge into one another, which adds to the intensity as there is no let up in this highly sophisticated, mind bending journey. This method of making the album has also allowed the band to endeavour on some rather stunning journeys and let loose without the usual constraints of structure, however I would also doubt that these constraints would hold these Italians.
They say that there is a fine line between genius and madness, I would suggest that Noise Trail Immersion blur this line as what they have created is a masterpiece that is as brilliant as it is disturbing and complex.
