Formed in 2013 as a traditional Technical Death Metal outfit, Mordant Rapture have evolved to include symphonies and melodies which have all been included as they bring us their debut EP.

The EP is 22 minutes long, spanning 5 tracks and from the start the Melodic side of the band is heard, with a beautiful piano piece before the Blackened, Technical side of the music begins.

The fingers on the guitar necks sound like they rarely lay dormant and the drumming is spot on as it changes the pace and tone of the tracks. The vocal is a traditional Black Metal sound, which brings a different dimension and works really well.

It may have taken 5 years for the debut EP to be heard, however Mordant Rapture have produced a cracker. It is a very strong blend of Black, Symphonic, Technical Death Metal that sounds huge, powerful and aggressive all at the same time.

The Abnegation is available now via Artisan Era Records
