What can you say about Michel Schenker that hasn’t already been said? He’s a living rock legend who has inspired generations of musicians to follow in his footsteps and find their own dreams. Breaking through at the mere age of 15 to record his 1st album with the Scorpions! – Like, come on give me a break, at 15 I couldn’t tell my ass from my elbow!

Schenker is rock royalty and his latest offering Michael Schenker Fest is his gift to us all, and what a gift!

I got the beautifully packaged 2 CD & DVD set, but you can also find it on Blu-Ray & Vinyl, as well as the standard digital options.. It’s a feast for the ears, a majestic trip down memory lane, and a reminder of just how great rock & metal was back in the day. There is something for everybody on this album: guitar shredders will revel in Schenker’sguitar virtuosity; and old time rockers can relive their vocal favourites, as the man of the hour is joined by past band members Gary Barden, Graham Bonnet & Robin McAuley out front.

You can tell Michael is on fire and loving every minute of this live performance, laying down blistering solo after blistering solo. Vocals are on point too, as previous front men of the M.S.G belt out crowd favourites to rapturous applause. An absolute must for any Schenker fan but also for anyone who has yet to experience the M.S.G in its full glory, a trip down memory lane for sure, but also a perfect reminder of how great song writing just does not age. Of the night itself Schenker said: “It was just one enjoyable event from beginning to the end, seeing those happy, excited fans right from the beginning before the show even started, was incredible. It was like Budokan all over again.”
