Put on that faded denim jacket, cast your mind back to the days of yore, when Rock legends were born and not made by the media. Here you will find the great Ritchie Blackmore at his most turbulent yet at the same time a true genius and master craftsman. That white Stratocaster guitar sang with melodies you could only aspire to copy and occasionally got trashed like no other.

So Ritchie Blackmore’s Rainbow are back .. new band, another new singer but like that old denim jacket somehow it all still fits. Blackmore has chosen with Memories in Rock II  to give us all the classic Rainbow tracks live and direct and yes those memories do indeed come flooding back. The track listing is a true back catalogue of the greatest hits, just what the fans wanted. The band complement Ritchie’s musicality perfectly and when he turns on the virtuosity they take a well earned back seat. New vocalist Ronnie Romero does then songs justice and at times takes them to a new level.

Also included on the album is a new recording ..’Waiting For A Sign’. Written by Ritchie Blackmore, with lyrics by Candice Night, the song takes us back to the heyday of Rainbow and could have easily featured on the Long Live Rock and Roll LP, yet there is a modern feel and it is very accessible.

If you are a Rainbow fan then you will love this LP .. a warts and all performance that the listener can’t but  help singing along to. New to this iconic band .. it really is not a bad place to start and will make you want to go back into the catalogue to check out the original recordings.

Included with the set is also a DVD featuring live snippets and interviews with the cast and crew of the latest incarnation of Ritchie Blackmore’s Rainbow.
